Who is Candidate Number 5?

ABC News source and Politico are reporting that Jesse Jackson, Jr. is the now famed Senate Candidate Number 5 in the IL Gov scandal.

Now why does this not surprise me? Why is it when things go bad in or around Chicago, somehow the name Jackson comes up? I thought these people were all about change? I thought they were all about hope and promise as well.

"Keep Hope Alive" was Jesse Jackson, Sr. mantra for years. Obama took the Clinton word "Change" and made it ring in America's ear so loudly that it got him elected and people didn't care about anything else.

Is this the hope and change that these people talked about? Bribes, back room deals? Is that the only way a Jackson can get a Senate seat? To buy it?

We already know that our political seats are bought but they are usually bought by a few groups of people rather than one person. Have we sunk so low as to buy a seat you could not otherwise get elected to no matter how much money you have to spend?

To be fair, Jackson, Jr has not been named as a person of interest or investigation by the FBI. But if this source is correct, you have to wonder how far and how deep this whole IL corruption mess goes.

Will Obama be dragged down with it? He is due to be sworn in as our 44th President in a little over a month. Yet people this guy knows are sinking like lead anchors in a salt-less sea. Will any of this bring down a President before he even gets started? Or will Obama be more like Bill Clinton, where no matter what, nothing seemed to stick to him.

Obama has called for the IL Governor to resign but somehow I doubt this guy will do that. Now will Obama call for Jackson, Jr. to step down from his state senate seat if he is found to be a part of this scandal? If it means saving his own neck, Obama will throw him under the bus, too.

Yes, that is the change we asked for, I am sure. Now isn't change good?
