A new begining in the political process

This is interesting. Indeed, it could be that the people will get back the right to political discourse. The San Francisco based advertising company Wide Orbit is rolling out something that is very different and unique.

It is a new service that will give each and every American the opportunity to express their political ambitions. Well, at least if you have a minimum of $1000. And this new system will by pass the McCain/Feingold rules. Which, in my opinion, anything that can bypass that grievous law and put the power back in the hands of the people is a good thing.

Or is it really? This new service called VoterVoter.com will let just about anyone make a political advertisement for just about anything and have it aired on local or national TV for about a grand.

The news is not as big as I thought it should be. I guess the major news and media outlets really do not like the idea of yet another platform that does not include them. Each person who wants to express their support in a particular candidate or cause can now do so on an even wider forum than YouTube.

Don't get me wrong. YouTube is very powerful. Yet as main stream as it has become, it is not yet THE mainstream media. That is still the place of TV or cable if you will. National advertising on the TV is still one of the most powerful ways of getting your message out to the general public.

However, with the FEC restrictions, rules and regulations and the media having control of the major outlets of TV communication, it was not easy or affordable for the Average Joe to try and affect the political process. At least not without being a part of that process in a major way as an insider.

The news is getting out there slowly and quietly. But this is going to be hard to keep quiet for long. I mean for about $1000 you can have your own political advertisement running on TV. That is far more affordable than a full production advertisement. Obviously the technology of today, such as digital camcorders and inexpensive production software, it makes it far more easy and affordable to produce such advertisements.

YouTube also helps because people can now post just about anything on there and then work to have people find it and watch it. But in this case, VoterVoter.com will manage your advertisement and have it shown on the boob tube where potentially millions of Americans can and will view you advertisement

I think this a great way to use and practice your freedom of speech rights. We cannot allow our government to squelch our ability to speak out and express our thoughts, desires and concerns. TV is still the main way we get our information and it still has the biggest influence on influencing our lives.

Although it does not hold the power it once did, TV is still powerful enough to effect the minds and hearts of all who watch it. The Internet and a few sites on the Internet is changing the power of TV but at least for now and probably for the next decade or so, TV will remain a powerful tool of expanding and expressing ideas.

The challenge will be since, VoterVoter.com and its parent company, Wide Orbit, are founded and based in San Francisco. I am sure this will have a strong influence on who and what content gets promoted with their service.

I say check it out and let me know what you think about it. Keep your eyes on it. Hell, if you have the ability, maybe there is an opportunity for you there to make money, and get conservative views pushed out to the masses.

Cradle of our Nations Freedom Attacks Constitutional Rights

Boston is a crazy little town. It is a city of about 500,000 people give or take a few thousand. Also known as Bean Town and the home of the American Revolution. It is a city built upon civic duty and conservative principles.

It is so amazing to look at Boston today and think that it once was a cradle of our nations battle for freedom and liberty. You look at Boston now and you see a city that is run by Democrat hacks and thieves and thugs.

These people do not believe in the freedom of the people. The mayor, Tom Menino, is a Liberal Democrat hack who has been in office since the early 90's. What makes that amazing is this guy cannot talk. In fact he is referred to as Mumbles Menino.

But that is not what this post is about. I ran across another blog that mentioned and talked about one of Mayor Menino's bright ideas. It smacks right in the face of liberty and the Constitution. But that does not bother Liberal Democrats.

But thankfully the people of this great city are beginning to wake up a little and see what is really going on. The city has this project the call Safe Home. In a nutshell, the Boston City Police Department would go from home to home in what they called “high risk” neighborhoods and ask the residents if they could enter the home to search for guns being held by those under the age of 17.

At first glance you might think that this was a great idea. Get illegal guns off the street. But for those of us who know our rights as protected by the Constitution, we know this is a huge violation of the document. Not to mention it opens up a plethora of problems and issues for the owner or occupant of the home.

What the Police are hoping you will do is to voluntarily give up your rights. They think they can come into your home under the guise of “helping you and the neighborhood. This is far from the truth. Grizzly Groudswell put it very succinctly when he described what could happen once the police are in your home even if you invite them in voluntarily.

You must understand whenever the government, no matter what party, says they are doing something for your safety and it involves a direct violation or “voluntary” giving up of your rights, you will not get safety. You will get thugs and bullies with government badges in your home and you will have a damn hard time of getting them out.

Once you let the government in your home, they can do a number of things and you will be powerless to stop them. The Constitution gives you specific protection from government intrusion into your home. So why then would you invite the government in? They cannot protect you and your family. It is not the governments job to protect you and your family.

You cannot abdicate the raising of your children to the government either. Once you do so, you will never be free of the government. This is not liberty. It is not life. It is Tierney.

Designer Kitty Has Environmental Impact. Kyoto to follow

This is just a bit of a rant that is a bit off topic of liberty and freedom. Well at least in the fact that is has nothing to do with politics. But I guess it does have to do with business. And you could say it has a little to do with the environment and animals. So, yes, OK, I think that those wackos who are all for the animals would rise up and scream about this.

So even when I think I am not on topic, after thinking about it, I am on target and on topic after all. Now what has me shaking my head but looking out for the radical who wants to pass a law that would limit your choices? Well I ran across this story last week.

Well, I run across so much in a day that I cannot get to everything. I actually should think about having a radio or on line radio talk show. I could get through a lot more material then. But there is so much in a week that can and does affect and effect your liberty and freedom.

Even the obscure stuff like this story has a bearing on your life. The story is about a cat. Yes, I said a cat. A very expensive cat. In fact it is billed as the most expensive cat in the world. A cat that cost as much as a car. Actually a cat that cost more than many cars in the showrooms today.

This is a mixed breed cat. Its a mix of an African serval and Asian leopard cat with a domestic cat. Yes, this thing has wild cat, big cat running through its veins. And this is no little purring fluff ball. This thing can weigh 30 lbs. That is the size of a medium dog. Make sure you don't have mice in your home.

Can you see this thing chasing a mouse in your dining room? What about the furniture? It won't scratch the sofa, it will shred it. And the litter box. Oh my. That is an awful lot of cat litter every week not to mention the size of the litter box you will need.

So this means that because we will have a bigger domestic cat that we, as a nation, will use more natural resources. It will take more to feed this thing. Which in turn puts more stress on our fragile environment because we will need to take up more land to raise animals and grains to feed this huge cat.

We will use more chemicals because of what it takes to make kitty litter. Not to mention more landfill space will be taken up with the spend kitty litter. That will put stress on the environment and cause our landfills to fill up faster.

Lets not forget the added cost of furniture. Well, you will have to replace your furniture more because this thing is so big it would damage your sofa or at least shorten the lifespan of your sofa. So in order to keep up with fashion and trends and good looks, you would have to replace that sofa more often than you usually would. Again, adding to the landfill problem and causing more trees to be cut down in order to build the frames of the sofa and more chemicals to be used to make and color the fabrics and make the foam that cover and go into the sofa so you can sit on it.

Forget the fact that this thing will cost you around $30 thousand to get, it will cost you more in vet cost. It will cost you more in sofa cost. It will cost you more in food cost. And the environmental impact is just too expensive to even try to list here.

Plus the last but not least fact. What will happen to the wild cat population if we take the dna and transform it into domestic cats? Will we be thinning the wild cats that are already on the endangered list? How can we live with ourselves spending $30 thousand when there are children on the streets of the world starving and diseases that are killing innocent people around the world. There should be a law against such extravagance. We cannot afford to have cats like this. I predict we have only 50 years before the world ends because of these huge domestic cats. We must act now in order to save the planet. We must past the Kyoto treaty. This treaty will prevent the birthing of such cats and we will save our planet.

You know, the problem with the above is that for the logical mind, we know that I am only half kidding. That is the scary part. Oh, take a look at this kitty. It really is rather beautiful but costing almost as much as a small BMW, I think I will pass on this kitty.

Prius is not the Savior we thought after all

File this under what you see is not what you get. I have railed against the Toyota Prius before. It looks like I have good reason to. Well other than the fact that it is not as green as Toyota and the Environmental nuts would have you believe.

I have said that the Prius doesn't get as high an MPG as the sticker says. Which is really kind of funny when you think about it. The reason is because many cars exceed their actual mpg than stated on the sticker in the showroom.

The reason being that the auto manufacturers prefer to understate their mpg so when people actually get better, they are happy. Prius has been proven the opposite. The mpg as stated on the sticker of the Prius says that the car will get a combined 46 mpg highway and city.

Drivers are getting far less than the sticker. Test upon test and actual drivers are getting around 40. In fact, as I have stated in the past, that there are other cars that get the same or nearly the same with far less devastating environmental impact.

Not to mention the fact that when the cars came on the market, they were going for a premium price and there were back orders.

Now comes this. The BMW 5 series deisel beats the Prius in actual driving test. Yes you read that correctly. The not so small BMW 520d got a stunning 41.9 mpg vs the Prius at 40.1 mpg. This is made more amazing that the BMW is 500 lbs heavier than the Prius and it obviously is not shaped to get the best mpg possible.

The BMW is classified as an executive car, which means it is far from the compact category of cars. Unfortunately this automobile is not available in the USA but it should be. This begs the question do hybrids have a place in saving the planet or are they just over hyped vehicles that should not be on the car lots of the world?

The point is, we can build cars that do not damage the environment as much as the Prius does. We don't need laws to tell us what to drive or how to drive. The market works and I would say that if the BMW 520d were to become available in the US, it would be a big hit.

Obama our Savior

It is amazing what happens over a holiday week end. I hope everyone has had a great Easter Holiday. After all, this was a very special holiday. It was the week end that our Lord and Savior went to the cross for all of us and then rose from the dead to break the chains of sin so that we all may have life ever after.

But such a holiday brings out the worst in some of us. I was listening to talk radio over the past few days and I am amazed at the talk surround Sen. Obama. I even saw a headline in some obscure magazine at the book store about Obama that really upset me.

The title of the article was "When Barry became Barack." I didn't know Sen Obama wasn't always himself. So I had to breeze through the article to see what they were saying. And it turns out it was pretty much a liberal magazine and it trashed Obama for what it says was coming to terms with his identity. It claims Obama dumped his white heritage in favor of his black heritage simply because he decided to use his real name instead of a nick name.

I could not believe what I was reading. But then again, there has been a lot of talk on both sides of the political isle about just that. Obama is a black man. Obama is denying his white side. Obama can't be both black and white. Obama should not go to a white hating church. And a whole lot more.

Now forget the fact that the man just has the wrong ideas for America which is why he should not be our next President. Lets look at this guy for who he is. He is a human being. He is an American. But many will not let him be human.

It all started months ago when the press began to ask, "Is Obama black enough?" What kind of question or statement is that. For the most part it has been liberals who have railed against or for Obama because of his skin color. Then again, some say he isn't black because he is too light in skin tone.

The man is a human being with an African father and a Anglo mother. That means, in some terms, he is a molado. Half black half white. There should be no discussion about this. This should not be an issue. Yet he has had to defend himself on his race time and time again.

As a mixed race man myself, I find it highly offensive that this has become such an issue. And it has become more of an issue with the very people who say they are so open minded. The liberals are doing most of the bashing and questioning here.

You don't here anybody questioning Clinton's heritage. You don't here about Clinton having to distance herself from people who say radical or racist things. Whenever some boob drops a bomb on the Clinton side, all you hear about is the person who made the comment. The press and radio don't delve into what Clinton is thinking. There is no call for Clinton to make a speech to get from under the ball and chain of a friend.

But Obama is forced to because he is half black. That is wrong and America knows it. There are a lot of people who hate America. They come in all colors. For the most part they are Liberal in their politics. Yet we don't see the press jumping on them. We don't see the press asking question after question to whites running for high office about their affiliations with liberal anti-American groups. Hell, we don't even here about the Democrat relationships with the KKK. But you let a conservative be aligned with such groups and you will hear all about it.

You let a black man be a part of someones group who hates America and you will hear all about it.

Did Obama screw up? Yes he did. He should have said, "This is America and there are people who will say things your or I don't agree with but that is what makes this country great. No matter what color your skin you can say what is on your mind and have a discussion about it. I am an American and I believe in the freedom of speech. My minister has said some things I have disagreed with in the past and I am sure he will say things I disagree with in the future. It in no way has a bearing on what I believe in." And then he should have let it drop.

Yes, I have heard what Pastor Wright has said. I do not agree with what he said. I do defend his right to say it even if it is pretty much anti-America. It does not mean Obama is anti-American and it in no way means Obama should have to explain himself being half black and half white.

On this issue, I stand with Obama. Be proud of who you are and don't let anyone make you chose or deny any part of you. I sure as hell won't.
