A Logical Case for Health Care Reform

I know what some of you are going to say. How can I, Rod Eccles, believe there is a logical case for Health Care Reform? Am I not the one that shines the beacon of freedom and liberty all across this nation?

Well, yes I am. And I can make a logical case for some kind of Health Care Reform. It really is not contradictory to my beliefs or to the love of freedom and liberty. In fact I can give a logical argument that shows that this kind of reform would benefit every man, woman and child in our nation and have a ripple effect around the world.

We are about to celebrate a very auspicious holiday. One filled with somber attitudes, joyous revelations and the great company of family, friends and food. Thanksgiving is a holiday intended for the people of this great nation to honor and give thanks to Almighty God for His providence and blessing upon us as individuals and upon us as a nation.

We are truly blessed. And that blessing comes to us each as individuals in the form of freedom and liberty. We are born with such freedom and liberty as a child of God weather or not we believe in the Holy Father above or not. An atheist has the same freedom and God given rights as a devout Christian or Jew. In that respect, the Lord does not discriminate.

How does this relate to Health Care Reform from a logical standpoint? Simple. No matter what the issue is that we face as a nation or as individuals the same basic principle applies. You have the God given rights of freedom and liberty to do what you please in order to make your life as you see fit.

But when you get others who start to dictate what you can be and cannot be, when you have others breathing down your neck telling you what you can and cannot do and what you must and must not do, think or say, then you are denied the very freedom and liberty that God Himself bestowed upon you.

With that said, I must tell you, that because these rights are bestowed upon you by God at your birth (actually at your conception) you do not have the right to give them up to another man. And no one has the right to take them away.

Freedom and liberty has allowed man to do so many wonderful things throughout history. Yes, it is equally true that the same freedom and liberty has allowed man to do many equally horrible things. Which is why this kind of freedom and liberty is a responsiblity of the most high. You cannot wield such gifts with malace. All of mankind will suffer if you do.

And with that, here is the logical argument for Health Care Reform. Since the government has already and still wishes to limit your freedom, that is the cause for such disdain and inefficiency of our health care system. To truly reform our Health Care System, you need to return the freedom and liberty back to the people from which it was taken.

The health care industry is probably the most regulated industry in all the world, not just our nation. It has government rules and regulation up the wazzoo. This creates all kinds of problems as we see everywhere across the globe.

Government needs to get out of the health care business. It needs to leave it alone with minimal regulation. Yes, I said minimal regulation. Look, our system grew over the past 200 years without massive government intrusion and intervention and it only got better. Then came government over regulation and things started to go south.

Cost rose, people were denied insurance coverage and so on and so on. What we need to reform our system is government DE-regulation not more regulation. Its simple and logical. Return the freedom and liberty back to the people from whom you stole it and magical things will happen. Hey, after all we are a nation that was built from nothing to the most powerful on the planet with nothing more than our God given freedom and liberty.

I think that is proof enough of what Gods blessing can do for a nation.

A Land of Self Help

I was listening to talk shows today. I was just sampling different shows, some political and some not. I began to notice something. It just hit me like a ton of bricks.

But I doubted my thoughts. I thought "this cannot be true". So I went and did a little research. I really didn't have to look too far or wide. All I had to do was use Google, Yahoo Search, Facebook and Myspace. Yes Facebook and Myspace can be used for research.

All I had to do was type in my key words and everywhere I searched, I got a ton of hits back. It didn't matter what key words I used, they all turned up hundreds of thousands of hits. Sometimes the hits numbered in the millions.

So I knew I was on to something. I knew that there was an issue in our nation. I knew that we cannot believe what we spend billions a year on.

Now what was it I was researching? Self Help; Motivational, Life Coach, Motivational Teachers/Speakers.

People like Tony Robbins, Jack Canfield, Les Brown and even movies like The Celestine Prophecy and The Secret kept popping up.

Now why was I looking for such things and how the hell does all of that relate to politics and freedom and liberty.

Well, its pretty simple and very logical. We are a nation of people that search for ways to improve ourselves. We turn to those who can teach and motivate us to be our best; to reach levels of personal achievement we only could dream about before these gurus and movies.

All of this stuff has one thing in common. ONE THING. They all teach that YOU are the change that you need to make in your life. YOU are the only person that can achieve all that you want in life. YOU are the only one that can make yourself rich, happy, safe, cool, smart, etc.

These gurus make millions and millions and we, the people of this nation gladly turn over our hard earned money to learn the so-called secrets these gurus claim to have. But when it comes down to it, ALL the gurus say the same thing. YOU are the only one that can make a change in your life.

We believe that to be the truth. We know that to be the truth. We have seen and/or experienced that to be the truth.

So why is it in a nation that prides itself on self esteem and self motivation would be so willing to turn over their freedom and liberty to a government? Why is it we read and watch and listen to gurus tell us that we are responsible for our own lives yet vote for those who will take away our ability to be responsible for our own lives?

There is a huge disconnect there. It makes no logical or emotional sense. Yet here we are. A nation full of self esteem citizens that vote for people who want to keep us from realizing our dreams. And we justify it by saying, we need to do something or that the government can give it to us for free. That is a direct contradiction to what we learn from the gurus. It is a direct contradiction to what we believe. We obviously believe it because we buy more and more of their products that teach us just that fact.

Isn't it time you got your moneys worth from those gurus? If you think so, then its time to vote for those who also believe the gurus and will let you go for your dreams. A liberal thinks you can't make it on your own. The gurus say you can make it on your own. Conservative say you can make it on your own.

Just something to think about.

Warnings of the past comes true today

President Ronald Reagan predicted what we are facing today. We have a man in office who thinks he knows what is best for you and me down to our health care. He cares not for what you think or believe. It is his time to "fundamentally transform" the United States of America.

And if you appose his policies, then you will be labeled a racist. How vial. How evil. How immoral. How un-American.

When Saturday Comes to New England

It is no secret that I call New England home. It is not secret that I call the great state of New Hampshire my home. And it is no secret that I currently reside just outside the state capitol of Concord.

What is a secret is what I do on Saturdays here in New England. I do what every other citizen of our nation does. I try to relax and have some fun. I exorcise my Liberty and my Freedom.

In New England through out the Summer and Autumn months you will find celebrations called "Old Home Day". This is really something that many other parts of the country may call "Town Fairs" or maybe even "Town or City Field Days".

Here in New England many towns celebrate their "birthday". What you usually get with this is a small town parade, merchants with special sales, maybe even a BBQ on the Town Square or Town Green. It is a typical New England tradition.

Hey, we will celebrate with a parade and food at the drop of a hat. We will use our kids to give us the excuse to participate in silly races such as potato sack racing and other activities including, but not limited to, face painting and hot dog eating contests.

This is America after all. We have a reason to celebrate at the drop of a hat. We have a reason to recall the founding of our town, our city, our state, our nation. We have a reason to spend our Saturday over eating. Its called Freedom.

And just think of this. We are a nation where it is very easy to "get there from here". So we don't have to limit our celebrating to just our own town or city. We can travel to another town, another city even another state and participate and revel. We are the United States of America.

We have fought, we have shed our own blood, we have sacrificed so much so we deserve to be able to celebrate whenever and whenever we want. Most other nations on the planet cannot say that. Most other nations on the planet cannot compare. In fact when it comes to Liberty and Freedom, no other nation on the planet can compare.

We don't have to worry about authority breaking up our fun. We don't have to worry about a Pontiff, a Potentate, a dictator encroaching in on our fun.

We can even decide that a simple protest of our very government is going to be the fun of the day.

I say, go out and about. Travel the roadways to a different town. Make merry and celebrate your freedom. Express your pleasure and gratitude of the sacrifices of the past for it is those sacrifices that allow you, that give you the ability and the right to do just as you please on your Saturday.

Enjoy your America. Enjoy your freedom. But just remember there are those who stalk in the shadows, in the alleys, in the dark doorways who have only one thing on their mind. To remove you from your freedom and liberty. So celebrate today and on Monday get back to work preserving your freedom so that come the next Saturday, you have the Liberty to celebrate again.

Isn't America a wonderful place? I think so. Now I'm off to celebrate. What are you going to do with your Freedom and Liberty this Saturday?

Presidents Day is a Joke

Yes you read the title correctly. I believe that Presidents day is a joke. Why do I say that? Simply because it is not a holiday of convenience. Not a holiday of celebration and memorandum.

You see some time ago, two of our nation's greatest leaders were honored by their birthdays. George Washington, one of the Founding Fathers and the very first President of the United States of America. This man had the God given insight to turn down the offer of being named King of the USA. That is right. The original GW turned down a monarchy and the chance to be the leader of this nation for life.

Abraham Lincoln, our 16th President. A man who openly revered and admired George Washington. A man who stood on principle in order to keep our nation in tact. Some say he forever ingrained the power of the Federal Government by taking to task a group of states that wanted to break away from the Union.

What they don't tell you that those states did not follow the law on how to do just that as outlined in the Constitution. So, by that, President Lincoln had a duty as the President to put a stop to such rebels. Not to mention the fact that the South was trying to deny a man a right to be a man. But that is another topic.

We used to celebrate these two great men separately. Granted, we did not take time off from work in order to do so, but at least our school children and our government recognized the greatness of these two men.

Then came the fact that someone in government thought it would be better to honor all presidents with a single holiday. That would have been a great idea except they chose to remove the holidays for Washington and Lincoln and lump them together with all the other presidents that have served. Lets face it, we have had great, good and downright awful Commanders in Chief. So why should those who were dismal in their duties be celebrated?

And what does this have to do with your liberty and freedom? Our government has been dumbing down the masses of our nation for decades. For when you have a governed populace that does not understand or know its history or is sense of self, they are far more easy to govern.

And by govern, I mean by taking away your freedom and your right to choose and live in a free and just society. If you stop celebrating two men who were the epitome of freedom and liberty and reduce their greatness to just anecdotal stories in the lines of history, you obviously break down the knowledge and truth that was the reason for them living and being. You get a mass of people who don't understand or know what others did for them and why.

Now we have historians ranking all of our Presidents on an annual basis. The funny thing is these rankings change from year to year. Now why is that? Obviously what these men have done within their respective Presidencies cannot change because it is history and almost all of them are now dead and gone. So how could their rankings change?

OK, I can see a new President being ranked higher over some older ones and thus change the rankings in that manor. But if a new President does not change the mix, then how do you re-rank a former President? How is it that Abraham Lincoln could be ranked, for example, number 2 last year behind George Washington but this year be ranked number 1 ahead of George Washington?

It doesn't make any sense unless you understand the dynamic that is the Left. They attempt to rewrite history on a daily basis. And by doing so, they take a dumbed down society and tell them what history was great and what history was not so great.

It is just like trying to paint Ronald Regan as a bad President and that he caused the recession of the early 1980's when he was not in office to do so at the time. When they, the left, try and tell us Ronald Regan had nothing to do with the fall of the Soviet Union and much of the worlds communism. When the left says that September 11, 2001 was all George W Bushes fault even though we know the attackers were planning that attack and training for said attack as far back as 1996 when Bill Clinton was in office.

Rewriting history only serves one purpose. It sole purpose is to impose upon you and me a false truth so that we are more accepting of over reaching government. If you change history for the masses by telling them that the Founding Fathers did not believe in God, then you make it easier to say that the words "separation of church and state" are in the Constitution. (They are not, by the way.)

If, by rewriting history, you can claim that our Presidents all favored strong and big central government, then you pave the way for more of that government today. Again, the Founding Fathers and at least the first 20 Presidents were not all that into huge central government.

If you say Ronald Regan cut taxes and that is why the deficits went sky high, then you create the mentality that tax cuts are a bad thing and that high taxes are the only way to go. Forget the fact that the Regan tax cuts doubled the income to the treasury and that is was not tax CUTS that lead to high deficits. It was too much spending and that is ALWAYS the case.

So now can you see how changing these holidays into one single, non recognized holiday re-writes history that puts your liberty and freedom in danger? If you don't, then might I suggest you go and read about American History from books that were written before 1950. You can find them in your library, if they have not been forced to remove them already.

What the Hell is going on

We have a ton of stuff going on in Washington, D.C. Most of this "goings on" is not what the American people want. We have our representatives, let me repeat that, our REPRESENTATIVES, doing what they damn well please, not doing what the people they represent want them to do.

We have a bill in Congress that is loaded with pork spending that have nothing to do with stimulating the economy. I mean, do they really want to stimulate the economy or do they want to take advantage of the economic down turn and seize nearly unlimited power.

The Liberals have chosen to not do what is best for the country but to take the power grab. I can say thank you to the Republicans in the House of Representatives that voted against this stupid, non-stimulus bill. They actually got back to their conservative roots. At least on this one issue.

But shame on the three Republicans in the Senate who voted for this. You can bet they will have a hard time getting themselves re-elected. Which is not so good for the Republican party or Conservatives. Or is it? Could this be the opening that the Republicans and true Conservatives have been looking for? I think it is. Think about it.

The Liberals were warned about taking this past election out of context and over reaching. They seem to think they won the election because people want socialism. Well all polls that are taken on this stimulus bill would suggest the opposite. Not to mention all the phone calls and emails each representative has been getting against this so-called stimulus bill.

Americans rightly so, do not want this bill to become law. It is full of things that are socialistic and have nothing to do with creating jobs.

By the way, how the hell does the government create a job? It can not create a job unless it is a government job. The private sector creates the jobs that get and keep our economy moving. If there is a road project, then sure it employs the private sector but that project goes away when it is done.

Then what does that private employer have to do? They have to find another project to keep those workers employed. So if there are no private sector projects then that worker gets the pink slip.

Hell, we can see that F.D.R. had a policy that failed and it failed big time. The Great Depression was bad in and of itself. However, studies have found that those policies extended the financial turmoil by at least 7 years. So that means the Depression of the 1930's was probably 7 years longer than it needed to be. The government policies did nothing to help the economy.

In fact those policies, which are similar to what they want to do now, extended the Depression. This stimulus bill will only serve to extend and maybe even deepen our economic problems.

Ronald Regan said, and rightly so, "all to often, government is not the answer. Government is the problem." This cannot be more so true today when one get a look at the stimulus package. It is so large that not even the people who were voting on this thing know what is in it. Yet they are voting on it and approving it.

Including this socialized medical part of the bill which every Democrat that is interviewed on this says it is what the American people want and that it only helps usher our American Medical Records system out of the dark ages. Even when they are faced with the language in the bill that tells exactly what will happen, those same Democrats tell us that is not what the bill says.

I mean how stupid do these people think we are? Well, they obviously think we are very, very stupid because we keep voting these people back into office each and every election season.

So once this "ginormous" bill hits the streets as law, will that finally break the average Americans back enough for them to do an about face with the elections and send all of those idiots packing? Probably not. But maybe the American people will throw another temper tantrum like they did this past election and vote at least some people into office with Liberty, Freedom and common sense on their tongue. One can only pray and hope.

Stimulus package, I think not

OK, Today is Wednesday, January 28, 2009. It happens to be my parents anniversary today. So it is important that I note this day as the beginning of the end. The end of a free nation as we know it. The end unless you and the rest of the American people wake up and take action.

Sure there are a few people out there sounding the warning. There are a few who are riding the horse in the night. There are a few who shout "the British are coming, the British are coming."

But we don't mean the English this time. The danger comes from our own government. The very government that is supposed to be protecting our freedom and liberty that our forefathers secured for us from the British are now the new British. And they are becoming more oppressive than King George. And I don't mean either George Bush.

We now have a new king. King Obama. Or maybe he fancies himself to be an emperor. And his number one governor is Nancy Palosi. And the American people seem to be oblivious to what they want to do despite the warnings of patriots such as Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Micheal Savage, Laura Ingraham, and others.

This anniversary of my parents can be marked as the death of the USA as we know it. Why do I say that. Congress has passed the massive "stimulus" package backed by President Obama. I'm sorry, I meant to say, Emperor Obama.

Most of the so-called experts agree, this package will do nothing to help the economy but it does do a lot to expand government and it forces our children and grand children and even our great grand children to pay for it. Which they will not be able to do. The debt is too great to pay back. That means those who footed the bill will force even more changes upon us.

There is only one thing now that can save our nation. It is called revolution. Do I mean by force of arms? Not needed IF the American people wake up and start voting these tyrants out of office. Bullets will not have to fly and blood will not have to be spilled IF the American people stop thinking that the government should take care of them and start getting back to what our forefathers thought...take care of yourself.

This stimulus package goes back door to what Bill and Hillary tried to do front door. It gives us National Health Care. It takes your choice away from you. And it leads us down the road to total socialism. A road that has ended in disaster for every nation that has gone down that road. It is history and history is fact.

We are a nation that mirrors the beginning of the end of Rome. Yet we have the opportunity to take a different road. We have the chance to do what our Founding Fathers did and effect real change and re-institute freedom and liberty. The very liberty and freedom they fought and died for. The very freedom and liberty they told us was fragile.

We cannot turn our backs on everything our Founding Fathers stood for, died for, sacrificed everything for. We cannot be so selfish as to think we deserve from others what we have the ability to do for ourselves. We are not the Soviet Union, so why do we wish to embrace so willingly the same things that caused the demise of that form of government?

Some of you who read this may think that Rush and others like him need to be silenced. But is that not what Hitler did in the 1930's? He silenced the opposition and that gave him free reign to do what he did.

Before you go thinking that I am a nut, ask yourself this. Why is it that any and all programs that are supposed to help you and your family mandatory? Why can you not opt out if you wished? Think about it. If Social Security is YOUR money, why can't you opt to not pay such a tax and invest your hard earned money yourself?

The answer, my friends, is blowing in the wind. And an ill wind it is. Mark this anniversary as the day I gave you the final warning. Mark this day and when the time comes, I won't have to say I told you so because you will know that you were warned numerous times by numerous people that your freedom and liberty was in danger.

There is a TV commercial by Absolute Vodka. In this commercial, it shows that the police and those who stand against them use feather filled pillows as weapons in their battle. It depicts a world that meets its conflicts with violence that is harmless. Unfortunately, this is not an "Absolute World" and those police are ready to use real and deadly weapons against you and your family and friends.

I will close this lament with this statement from Benjamin Franklin, one of the Founding Fathers. Those who give up a little freedom for security deserve neither.

Indeed, those who are willing to give up a little freedom for security will certainly not have ANY freedom nor security at all. Now do you think you are wiser than the men and women who fought to give you the freedom you are now so willing to give away? I'm not.

Settling in with Obama as President

And so the “reign” of Obama begins. It started out a little rough with both Chief Justice Roberts and President Obama messing up the Inaugural lines. It was a bit comical at first but then you realized, this is something these two should have had down pat. No excuses.

But they are human and it would be petty to target Obama on this slip up. But since President Obama is not quick on his feet (we have seen him stumble on more than one occasion when he is not reading from a script or prompter) you know this will not be the last time he screws up with his words.

Obama waisted no time in halting the trials of Guantanamo prisoners. You can say Obama has now launched a war on the war on terror. He seems to want to give these prisoners of war the same treatment as a citizen who has committed a crime.

Obama has also extended a hand of friendship to our enemies. In his speech he pledged to shack the hand of our enemies if they would only but extend an open hand other than a fist. How many times have these same nations extended a false open hand only to have their fingers crossed behind their backs with the other hand?

Of course you had all the news outlets just fawning all over the Inauguration. They were so giddy it was sick. You have to ask yourself how fair and balanced are they going to be with this guy during his first (and hopefully only) term? Don't rely on ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, MSNBC and to some extent even Fox News for fair and honest and balanced coverage of this guy. Seriously, they all were in love with the moment, the day, the history.

For the record, this was an historic day, true. HOWEVER, every time we install a new President, it is an historic day. Our nation makes history every time we peacefully change the hands of power. Just because this guy had a darker complexion of skin should not have even been more than an anecdote. Seriously.

Martin Luther King, Jr. would have been filled with joy to see Obama elected, if he agreed with and liked his character. Remember, MLK wanted a world that did not judge a person by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. Does Obama have the kind of character that MLK would have liked and voted for? To be honest, probably not.

MLK talked about being free at last. President Obama talked about a free people doing great things. Yet most of Obama's ideas focus on taking choice and freedom from the people and placing that power in the hands of the government. Remember, if the government has the power, you don't have the freedom. Pretty simple.

Lastly, will I give this new President a chance to succeed? If that means he gets what he wants in the form of Socialism then I would have to say “HELL NO!” I will not stand by and watch him turn my nation into a new France or a new Germany or a new Russia. Hell No! I won't stand by and let him strip me further of my freedom and liberty. Government is NOT the answer. Government is the problem.

President Obama, I will give you time to get settled in your new home. Oh, hold on, you are in the White House now. You occupy the Oval Office now. I think you are settled. Now time to get to work for you, me and every American citizen. I for one am all settled in on spreading the word on what you intend to do. Along with all your friends on Capitol Hill. If you even speak or think of stripping any of my freedoms, I will be there on your “door step” fighting you.

Yes, I am a Patriot. I cling to my guns and religion and my rights and freedoms. I cling to the documents of freedom, the Deceleration of Independence, the Constitution of the United States of America, the Bill of Rights and the Bible. You can have those documents when you tear them from my cold, dead hands.

What say you, America? Are you a true American or do you think the government is here to support and take care of you?

God, guns, glory and freedom

Now I am sure you are thinking to yourself, not another post from some right wing whack nut about God and guns. Well, you would be wrong. But since you brought it up, what is wrong with God and guns? Absolutely nothing.

But what this article is about is your freedom, my freedom, the freedom of our children and their posterity. We have been given a great gift by God in the form of the United States of America. Are we a perfect nation? Hell no. Are we the best nation on the planet today and possibly in the history of man? Hell yes.

We were built on freedom and liberty. Our Founding Fathers saw fit to put into the Constitution things that would secure our freedom. Yet we seem to be willing to let our freedom go little by little and we say it is for the best.

We have now elected the most socialistic and radical President in our nation's history. Barack Obama is bent on destroying the very foundations in which our nation was built. But he is not the first.

We have anti gun laws in most states in our union. This is something that our Founding Fathers would never have stood for. Yet we modern Americans think it is for our safety. Despite the fact that gun laws only seem to keep fire arms out of the hands of law abiding citizens, not the criminals. This gives the criminal the upper hand. You can see every where the people are allowed to carry a gun, violent crime goes down. Great Britain banned hand guns for its citizens and its violent crime rate shot through the roof. So much for the safety of the public.

You now have a Governor proposing taxes that would have the Founding Fathers dumping cargo into bays and ports all over the country. NY Governor Patrick wants to put taxes on what you eat and what you do. This is surely not the kind of taxation with representation that our Founding Fathers had in mind. Remember one of the reasons they went to war with King George was over taxes and how unfair and burdensome they were to the American people. Now we have elected politicians who think the best way to solve fiscal problems is to raise our taxes instead of reducing their spending. And we re-elect these people?

We have gotten thought police as well. We now have "hate" crime laws. This gives some people more protection than others. How is that anti-hate when you seem to think that a gay man is worth more than a straight man. Who cares what was in the heart and mind of the criminal when they committed the crime. It was a crime against a HUMAN BEING, period. Hate crime laws fly in the face of the Constitution that says "all men are created EQUAL". This does not leave room for special laws for special people.

We have judges who write law now or force legislators to write law. This was not the intent in the Constitution either. How can you interpret a law that does not exist? You cannot. A judge, according to the Constitution, can only interpret existing law against the Constitution. That does not give the judge the right to force a new law upon the people. That job is for the legislature alone.

Yet we seem to elect the same buffoons to office time and time again. We talk about experience when we just elected one of the least experienced people to our highest office. But then again, this may not be such a bad thing. Our Founding Fathers did not believe in career politicians. They all served a short time and went back to private life. Our politicians today seem to think when they get elected its a life long job worthy of pensions and retirement pay.

And we now have selective discrimination. You can't have a Christmas tree or a Menorah on public property in many places now. Something about "separation of church and state." What a bunch of bunk. Those words do not appear anywhere in the Constitution. I challenge anyone to find those words in the Constitution. Placing a Christmas tree in front of city hall does not constitute the state endorsing a particular religion as the state religion. It is ridiculous how this has played out. Unless you are now some protected minority religion, you have no rights on public lands? Yet we re-elect the idiots who decide this stuff for us.

I am a Christian man. I say Merry Christmas and Jesus is the reason for the Season. If you get insulted, then it is not my problem. I say Happy Chanukah to some people who are Jewish. If that offends someone who is not Jewish, tough. I like guns and own one. If that offends you, too damn bad. I express my opinion freely. You don't like it then don't listen or don't read it.

This is the United States of America and I have the right to do, say and have these things. You don't have the right to shut me up or take them away. You do have the right not to listen. Just as I have a right not to listen to you. Notice I did not say I have a right not to "hear" you. You have a right to say almost anything you want, even call me a racist term and I will hear it, but just because you say it doesn't mean you have a right to have me listen. I can ignore you. You can ignore me, but neither of us can DENY the other of our rights. And that is what is happening today in our nation.

This is the land of the free and the home of the brave and I will gladly stand up and defend her any day. I stand for God, Family, Country. In that order. God gave me my family and my country and I have a God given right to defend them and I will. And I will do so by not voting for idiots who want to take those rights away from me. I will defend my rights by opposing what our elected officials want to do if what they want to do stomps on the Constitution. I don't care if you are Republican, Democrat, Libertarian, Liberal, Conservative, Moderate, Independent...it does not matter. You trash the Constitution and you and I have a major problem.

The Founding Fathers did not bleed red so that we could someday hand over our rights to a few elites in Capitols all over the land. The power was meant to stay in the hands of all the people not a few. So wake up. Stand up. Don't let your freedom slip away any further. Because if you do, you may find the only way to get it back is by bleeding yourself or worse, by the blood of your children. Now is that what you really want? I didn't think so. Oh and if it comes to that, you will need your gun.

A Ponzi is a Ponzi is a Ponzi unless you are the government

Bernard Madoff has pulled off what many thought could never be pulled off. He has duped investors of a reported $50 billion dollars. Yes, that is 50 BILLION! It is said that this is a record and the largest Ponzi scheme in the history of finance.

Now what does this have to do with liberty and freedom? A lot. If you were one of the unfortunate people or organization's that invested money with this guy, chances are you have taken a huge, monumental hit. Some people and organizations may have to go bankrupt. Their financial security and liberty has been threatened.

But that is only a small part of the issue. The government, obviously, wants to come down hard on this individual. Why? Because he pulled off something that was previously thought impossible. Madoff duped some of the wealthiest in our nation. It is reported, one individual may be out as much as $500 million dollars.

You may say, about time that the rich got hit. Well let me tell you something about that. The rich create jobs in this country. Not the poor and not the government unless you become a government employee. The rich are suffering in this economic downturn just like the rest of us and to have someone dupe you out of the money you earned no matter how much is simply wrong.

But is Madoff the biggest fraud going? Not by far. Our government now runs the largest Ponzi scheme in the history of the world. It is called Social Security. And the numbers are staggering. You would not believe the amount of money that has disappeared from the government's books when it comes to this "fund".

Lets start with a little history. FDR, the wonderful president of the Great Depression, set up this fund to help people with retirement. It was anticipated that people would pay the government over their working life and upon retirement, that same government would give you back your money in small amounts for the rest of your life.

There are a number of problems with this and these problems were built into the system from the beginning. This ensured that at some point in the future, the whole plan would fall apart. The question is, how much will the demise of this system damage our nation and government? If the Madoff issue is any indication, we could expect our government to go bankrupt. No Joke! What does a bankrupt Federal Government mean for you and me? Loss of our freedom, liberty and maybe even our Constitution and with that our nation and way of life.

The first person to receive Social Security retirement benefits was one Ida May Fuller of Vermont. She began receiving benefits in January 1940 after reaching 65 years of age in the year of 1939. Miss Fuller contributed under $25 dollars to the system. So by all accounts, how the system was said to have worked, she should have gotten no more than that $25 dollars.

At least that is what a logical and sane person would believe. In reality what Miss Fuller got was well over $22,000 dollars. Granted being of sturdy and stout New England stock, Miss Fuller lived to the ripe old age of 100. However, notice how she collected 1000 times more than she put in. How can this be?

How does this factor in to the modern times of today? Well at one point there were over 20 working people supporting 1 retiree on Social Security. The way our nation is aging, it is predicted that number will shrink to as few as 3 working people supporting 1 retiree. Now in order to do that, you must be taxed more. But how can this be if the money you are putting into the system is YOUR money?

It is not your money. In fact, if you actually were to view the books of the Social Security fund, you would see a big fat zero. Where has all that money gone? It has gone into the general fund to reduce the deficit and to pay current retirees and other recipients getting Social Security benefits.

At some point, there will be not enough people to support such a massive payout. This is how Ponzi schemes fall apart. At some point there is no more money that can come in. So the people who get in later cannot get what they put into the plan. The same with Social Security. Your financial liberty and indeed, our nations' freedom is at risk here.

Yet at every turn, Congress has blocked any and all attempts to "fix" this eventual problem. If you think the current bail out is expensive, just wait until Social Security needs a bail out. I would suggest that anyone under the age of 50 not expect to get a single dime of Social Security money. View it as a tax and that money is gone forever. You mush take care of your own needs in retirement.

In order to be free, in order to have liberty, you cannot have any part of your life dependent on government. It is not governments responsibility to take care you or me. Otherwise, you risk losing all of your freedom. And, America, unless there is a change in this massive Ponzi scheme, you and I will lose what ever freedom and liberty we currently have and enjoy.

Did we forget?

December 7, 1941. A day that should not be forgotten, may have been. The entire world stood still that day. For the year 1941, the news of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, HI spread like wildfire. It was a day when people all over the world actually rejoiced because it forced the United States to enter the war. It caused anti-freedom loving governments across the world to tremble and for good reason.

Admiral Yamamoto of Japan was quoted as saying "I fear we have awakened a sleeping giant." And that giant had tremendous anger. But why did we go to war in the first place?

Was it really just because Japan attacked us? If that were the case then why did we not just go to war with Japan and leave Italy and Germany out of the equation and leave it to the British and French and Russians? Because it was about freedom.

When Japan attacked the USA, they attacked freedom directly at its core. The French had fallen, the Brittish were barely hanging on and without help, there was no way the Communist Soviets were going to be able to hold back Hitler even with the famed Russian winters as an ally.

We don't celebrate December 7 anymore. Not as a holiday but as a rememberance. A day which President Roosevelt said would live in infamy. Forever. Never to be forgotten. But as we head into the year 2009 with a new President in the form of Barack Obama, we have changed as a nation.

We are a nation that has begun to turn its back on freedom and liberty. This is evident by the numerous and huge financial bailouts of various business sectors. It is evident by the election of polititians that want to take away your freedom of choice in the areas of health care, personal choice (smoking, drinking, etc) educational choices and the list goes on. We find that many things are being defined as privaledges instead of rights, such as driving a car or truck.

We see polititians subverting the will of the people by voting for things that even the people they are elected to represent don't want such as the financial bailout. We see serious and massive corruption in all levels of our government as polititian after politician is arrested and even jailed. You don't think this is serious business?

Out of the last 8 Governors of the state of IL, 4 have been arrested for corruption and 3 have or are serving time in jail right now. That is 50%. 50%! One could have argued that Rhode Island was the most corrupt state in the union but to see that 4 out of 8 IL Gov have fallen due to greed, lust, corruption makes RI look like Disney land.

How can we as a nation forget what happened on December 7, 1941? It took the blood and lives of millions of men to let us keep our freedom. Is this what they fought for in the jungles, in the open fields, in the ruined cities and towns, in the cold of winter and the heat of summer, in the deserts of Africa? No, this is not what they served and gave all for. This is what they faught against.

Who would of thought that in less than a century we would be the very nation that we once wared against. How must all of those brave men and women be turning in their graves right now. How they must be looking down upon on us from heaven with tears of sadness. How they would have stayed home if they knew this is what they would have given all for.

Why do I bother with this? Because I beleive in the USA. I believe in freedom and liberty. I believe in the project that our Founding Fathers started over 225 years ago. I believe that man has the God given right to live free, to govern themselvs and to have the choices to raise their family in a manor in which they deem to be best. But everywhere I turn I see Americans voting their freedom away.

It saddens me to see this. We cannot be little children having temper tantrums and vote for someone we know is going to take away our freedom just because we are mad at the party or person who is currently in office. This is how we got Barack Obama. Now we will have to brace for even more freedom erosion. Now we must live with more government regulation and rules and laws.

You do understand that right now, you probably break a law every single day of your life and you may not even know it. That is becuase you elect people who feel they know whats best for you and they impose laws on you and many times you don't even know those laws exist until some over zealouse young police officer pulls you over and hands you a ticket or worse yet, arrest you.

This is not what my grandfathers, grand uncles, went to war for. We are fast becoming a people enslaved by its government, but what makes this different from most government style changes is that this one is bloodless. There is no military take over or blood thirsty civil war. No, this change comes at the ballot box and we the citizens are just voting our rights away.

This December, this holiday season, think about the freedom you have to celebrate how you see fit. Now think about the fact that some day, and that some day could be sooner than you think, you may not have the right or the freedom to celebrate as you see fit. At that time, it will be too late to vote for someone who will protect your freedom and liberty because they very well may all be dead.

Think about it this holiday. Say a prayer for the men and women in harms way protecting your liberty and freedom. Set aside some time to remember what this nation was meant to be. And vow that in the year 2009 you will stand up for your rights, freedom and liberty. Stand up for the USA. You wont be sorry and your family and posterity will thank you as well. Don't ever let December 7, 1941, a day which sould live in infomy, be forgotten.

A Governor and his court

I know everyone has heard about the Governor of the state of IL being arrested by the FBI. Now some people may think, so what big deal. Well it is a very big deal. Much bigger than just this governor possibly breaking the law. If the charges against this guy are true and fact, then it affects your freedom directly.

Seriously think about it for a moment. This guy is alleged to basically have held the Senate seat vacated by Barack Obama for ransom. He was trying to sell it to the highest bidder. He was holding that seat open to someone that would benefit him. Not the people of his state.

Now when you are a governor and you get to appoint a senator to the US Congress, you are also affecting every single person in the Union. Even though a US Senator is duly sworn to represent the people of his state, what they do while in Congress affects every person in all 50 states.

This is not a situation that only affects the people of IL. It affects all of us. What if this governor appointed someone that did not really qualify for that seat? What if that appointed Senator swayed crucial votes that affected and effected your life?

How do you justify selling a seat in government? Don't tell me that everyone does it. To a certain extent that may be true. But this is different. This governor openly put this seat out for bid. He threatened to appoint himself to the seat if he did not get the price he thought he should get. This is self serving and has nothing to do with you or me or the people of the state of IL.

Add to this the fact that IL already has a former governor in prison for less than legal deeds while in office. Forget the fact that the state of IL has had a record number of governors to be sent to jail for various ill-deeds, 5 to be exact. Rod (yea we share the same name but not the same views or sense of morality) Blagojevich was out for himself. He was out to enrich himself without any regard to the people of this country. Rod Blagojevich could be governor number 6 in IL to go to prison.

Have we not had enough of politicians on the take. Forgetting why they are in office to begin with? How can we, the people, keep electing these people over and over again? Why is it we think its OK that character doesn't really matter? These people take our freedom, take our liberty, and line their pockets with money. They don't care about you and me.

So what can you do? Get involved. This is YOUR country as well as it is mine. You need to start understanding what your freedom and liberty is. You need to know what is in the Constitution. You need to realize that your freedom, although its not free, it is priceless. It is as priceless as life itself for without your natural God given freedom, you can have no life.

Don't believe me, then just look at the former Soviet Union. Look at nations that did not have freedom until recently and see how the people love having it. Of course the politicians don't like for you to have freedom. It gives you power over them instead of them having power over you.

The state of IL is corrupt. It is corrupt because the people let it be corrupt. Our government is corrupt because we the people let it be. We elect and re-elect the very people who are responsible for our plight.

People knew that Rod Blagojevich was a crook but they elected him anyway. People knew that Barack Obama had major character issues and flaws, yet we elected him anyway. People know that Barny Frank and friends are most responsible for our financial environment right now, but they were re-elected last November.

You, your neighbor, your co-worker, your relative is responsible for you losing your freedom. You and they elect these deadbeats. You must understand, one man or one woman can change the course of a nation and history. It has been proven time and time again. Now imagine over 400 people that you elect and put in Washington, D.C. and how they can influence your life. Imagine the people that you send to your state and local government buildings and how they affect your liberty on a daily basis.

Would you want your boss at work to be as crooked as Blagojevich? Most of us would say no because that could put our paychecks in jeopardy. Well, the same is true when you send leaders to run our government. And now we are reaping what we vote.

Now you can't blame me. I did not vote for Blagojevich, Obama, Frank, Palosi, Dodd. But many of you who read this did. So are is the biggest enemy of your freedom, my freedom, the people in office? No! The biggest threat to my freedom to your freedom, to your family's freedom is you, the voter.

If you don't vote, you are no better than the person who votes for the wrong person. So when you read about men and women like Blagojevich the only person you can blame is yourself. You voted for them. They think they are kings when you do and can do and say anything and get away with it.

We the people are not corrupt in general but we allow others to be corrupt by voting for them and then re-electing them. So when you lose your job or your friend, relative or neighbor does, know that it is most likely your fault. Unless you find and vote for those who believe in the Constitution and believe in your freedom and liberty, then you are at fault.

Want to prevent more corruption? Want to stop people like Blagojevich? Then vote for those who believe in your freedom and will not compromise principle for a buck.

The Death of Freedom? Not on my watch.

The economy is on every ones radar right now. You cannot go an hour without hearing about the economy and how it is in a tail spin. You cannot turn on the TV or radio without some kind of bad news about the economy. In fact even when there is some good news (rare as it may seem) it is buried by all the bad news.

This would leave one to believe that we are in the days of the worst economy in history. Or at least the worst economy since the great depression, according to the messiah, President-elect Obama.

Now this brings me to my point of this post. The arrogance of our leaders is astounding. Not one of them (except for President Bush) is touting free markets. Not one of them (again except for President Bush) is talking about less government. No, our leaders are enthralled with the notion that more government, bigger government is the key to all our worries. Big government will fix our problems. Huge government is the answer to the stock market, Detroit auto makers, big banks and the mortgage mess, wall street greed and general "Main Street" economic decline.

How, I ask you, how can more government, more regulation by people who have never run private companies do anything more efficiently than the American people? They have proven though history that they cannot.

But this economy is the perfect vehicle for the "nanny state" proliferaters to take your freedom. They will immerse your business, your company, your employer in red tape. This red tape will eat at profits. This red tape will force people to fire workers. This red tape will force some companies on the edge to go out of business without the hope of being saved.

Oh, but wait, they can be saved only if they let the government take them over, buy them out and then tell them how to run. No, no, no. This is NOT what the Founding Fathers had in mind. This is what the Founding Fathers feared. This is what the Founding Fathers warned us about. They are shouting from their graves via their letters, notes, other writings and the Constitution.

"Government," as stated by Ronald Reagan, "all to often is not the answer. It is the problem."

Now think about this for a minute. There have been huge debates about who is responsible for the mortgage melt down. I think that if you looked at the evidence with an objective eye, you will see that most of the blame falls on the Liberal Democrats. Palosi, Reed, Dodd and even Obama all had a big hand in helping our economy turn on its ear and head for the pits of hell.

Yet these are the same people who are now saying they can FIX the problems of the world. They did this on purpose. They did this to get you to fear. They did this so you would let them take your freedom away from you.

The Liberal Democrats have tried for decades to grow government and take your liberty from you. Most of the time they did not succeed. But then, Democrats can learn from history as well. We now have the perfect storm of history, Democrats and radical ideas coming together. This storm was engineered from the beginning. This storm was planned and executed with precision and malice.

Hitler took the people of Germany down a path they would not have gone if it were not for the fact that the German people were scared to death of what was going to happen to them after first Great War. As things got worse for Germany, the more power Hitler was able to amass. He kept up his rhetoric and fear mongering until things got so bad that the German people gave Hitler exactly what he wanted.

Are we at that cross road now? Is this the storm that the Liberal Democrats have in store for us? You bet your bottom American dollar it is. Look at what they are doing now. Obama has won the White House. He is running around acting like he is already in office. This is unheard of. He does not take control until January 20, 2009 yet he is pushing Bush aside like he was nothing more than table scraps.

He has the audacity to tell a sitting President what he wants that President to do before he takes over. Unheard of.

Nancy and the gang are chomping at the bit to get the chance to investigate, prosecute and jail as many of the Bush team as possible. This is also unheard of. We the people cannot stand for this. This is not justice. This is not fairness. This is not peace. This is not the American way. This IS the new tone that those now in power intend to set.

Mark my words, if we do not stop them here, stop them now, we will not be able to stop them later. They will build momentum and enact laws that will make if hard if not impossible to stop them in the future.

No, America, this is not how a great nation continues to be great. We have a job to do and it won't be easy or pretty. And Obama was right, it will take sacrifice but not the kind of sacrifice that he wants from us. It will take guts, strength, wisdom and gumption that has not been seen on our land since the founding of this great country.

This is YOUR country. It does not belong to Palosi. It does not belong to Reed. It does not belong to Dodd. It does not belong to Frank. It does not belong to Obama. It belongs to YOU and to ME. And that is how the Founding Fathers intended it to be.

Benjamin Franklin said, "Those who give up liberty for security truly deserve neither."

I say you can only have security through liberty. Period.

The Dawn of a New Era? Not likely

It has taken me a day to absorb the reality of what is President-elect Barack Obama. Now don't get me wrong. I knew in my gut that because Sen. McCain ran such a weak campaign that Obama would probably win so it was not such a shock to me when he did.

It was the realization that as our nation threw a temper tantrum at President Bush, they willingly handed control of our nation to Extremist, Socialist and Marxist. Yes I said it.

People thing President Bush did damage to our Constitution (and he did) just wait until Obama and his buddies along with Michelle Obama get hold of the reins of leadership. This could be one of the most bumpy rides our nation has seen since the civil war.

Why do I predict such dire circumstances? History. History has taught us, if you bother to read history, that certain things do not work in our nation or in any nation. Yet Obama and the gang are determined to repeat history.

Why is this? Do they really hate America? Do they secretly hate you and me, the average "Joe the Plumber?" No they don't. I really and truly believe they don't. They DO hate the fact that we are so successful and other nations are not. They do think it is unfair.

They also truly believe they know whats best for you and your family. They also want to control you and your family. Why else would they come out with laws that limit your freedom, your choice, take money from you in the form of taxes, etc? Is it because they love you? No they don't love you. They love power. And they love the country as they would like to see it, not as it is.

You see, it is unfair that France, China, England, Russia and other nations that are centuries older than the USA not have the same prosperity as we have. It is unfair that in less than 200 years we would become a world super power. It is unfair that we have things that other nations do not have. It is unfair that we are so rich when other nations are so poor.

Liberals, Socialist and Marxist see the worlds wealth and product as finite. The only way we can have more is if we take from someone else. This of course if stupidity at its highest level, but that is what they believe.

Listen to Obama talk about "spreading the wealth around". If Obama believed wealth was infinite, then there would be no need to spread the wealth around. He would believe that the best way to end poverty would be to help the poor and middle class get educated and create there own jobs, businesses, investment, etc in order to produce their own wealth. Instead he believes that the only way to elevate the poor is to take from the rich and then give it to the poor.

Never mind that this ideal has never worked through out the history of mankind. Never mind that almost every modern nation that has tried such a thing has failed and has now adopted some form of capitalism. Never mind that many nations are giving their people more freedom and relaxing government control and regulations. Never mind the fact that the USA already has the highest Corporate tax rates in the world. It does not matter.

It does not matter to them because they are gods. They are smarter than you or I. They know best. And those countries and leaders all throughout history were not smart enough to make their ideas work. But Palosi, Reed and Obama are smart enough to make these failed ideas work.

There is a famous saying "the true definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expect a different result each time." This is what our Liberal pals in Congress think. This is what Obama thinks.

Am I depressed? No I am not. Am I concerned? Yes I am. Don't get me wrong, I truly hope that Obama does the right thing and we prosper as a nation. But I know Liberals and Socialist. I know what Obama and his gang want to do. I know history has shown that their ideas are abysmal failures.

So what am I going to do? First I am going to dump my 401k. There is no way I am giving the government control over the money that I have saved and invested. And neither should you. I will have to look at this proposal that Nancy Palosi has a little closer to determine where to put my money but it will not be in any vehicle that the government gets to control. Yes, I will take the penalty and tax hit before I let Obama and the gang totally destroy my savings.

I am going to hoard cash. Yes I am going to save my money and invest in things that are not so volatile such as precious metals. After all, Gold, Silver, Platinum, Nickle have never been worth zero. I will invest in money market funds and high yielding CD's and maybe even government bonds. No not treasury notes but municipal bonds.

If a recession does come on full force, I will refuse to participate by working my tale off to provide products and services that people want and are willing and able to pay for.

Until the government tells me what job I must do, they will not be able to keep me from doing what I want to do and becoming as successful as I want to be. This is still America after all. And there will always be those who wish to control me and you so they will always make stupid laws that have legal loop holes in them. I am free to exploit those loop holes and I will and so should you.

I will cling to my guns and my religion and I will be free because that is what God and our Constitution intended for us to be.

I guess that is why I live in a state where the motto is "Live Free or Die!" That's right people. Give me liberty or give me death.

Obama and his Lies

You have to ask yourself something. Just what kind of president is Obama going to be should he be elected tomorrow? Seriously. What has he said over the past 12 months or so that we can clearly believe is the truth?

He says one thing and does another when the cameras are not trained on him. He says one thing in public and then says something very different when he thinks those microphones are turned off.

He says one thing to the American People and then says something else to those who have power and authority. So which is it?

The point is, this guy is more tricky than Tricky Dick or Slick Willie. And this is the guy that a good number of Americans want to be their Commander in Chief? This makes no sense at all.

Obama doesn't care about taxes. He doesn't care about government revenue. He doesn't care who he hurts. He only wants things to be "fair" so he will raise taxes no matter how much higher taxes will hurt the treasury.




He admits that tax hikes would hurt the economy. So if the economy were strong then he would hurt it by raising taxes. Now if the whole idea is to make things fair and to pay as you go, would it not make sense, using the Obama logic, to raise taxes? In the spot above, Obama says it is not about putting money in the Treasury, it is all about fairness.



Obama thinks that paying more taxes is neighborly. And he thinks that even though lower taxes brings in more money to the treasury, the rich can afford to pay more than the lower classes but that is not class war fair. Who is this guy kidding.



When it comes to national defense, Obama doesn't know what he is talking about. He shows that he is a freshman Senator. He shows that he does not understand the dangers that we as a nation faces or that he does not really care about those dangers.



I could go on and on to show you that in his own words, Obama proves himself to be ill equipped to lead our great land. He is sorely lacking in the stature to make tough decisions. He is a socialist at best and a Marxist at worst. He wants class war fair to be inflamed to a level not before seen in our nation.

Don't listen to what others say about Obama, listen to what he says. He goes against history and statistics that prove he is wrong. He is arrogant and naive to think that even the smallest of nations pose no threat to our safety and survival. He hides his true beliefs. He hides who he is. He tries to shut the opposition up. He is against the Constitution. He will punish success.

All of this and more, Obama says and proves himself with no help from anyone else. How can you or anyone else vote for such a dangerous man? I cannot and I will not. Obama does not deserve your vote. And that is the truth.

This is scary for sure. But what is more scary is the fact that this guy could get elected. Do you liberty and freedom loving citizens really want that? Then get out and vote and get your friends, family and co-workers to get out there and vote and vote for McCain. He is by far the lesser of two evils.

It's Time for Liberty to be the Key Issue of the Day

The election is less than three weeks away as I sit down to write this article/post. The two sides are clearly defined in Obama and McCain. Or are they really?

I watched the last debate between the two of them and I was not happy with either candidate. But then I guess I was not happy with either of them in the last two debates. Nor was I happy about the one and only Vice-Presidential debate. Although, Gov. Sarah Palin did make it a point to say a few times that she was going to Washington, D.C. To shake it up and put government back on the side of the people.

That is when it hit me. I knew this long before Gov. Palin said it but I did not really think it until that debate. This is supposed to be government by the people, of the people, for the people. That is what our Constitution says.

Yet, not one candidate, not even Gov Palin, said they would go to Washington to fight for the Constitution. Not one of them said they would go to Washington to roll back the illegal confiscation of our rights under the Constitution. That is what I am mad about.

So I began shaping my arguments to others. I began holding both sides accountable as it pertained to the Constitution. I asked people if they believed in the Constitution. Of course no one said they were against it. Well then I asked how does Obama's or McCain's ideas fit the Constitution. Most sane people had to admit the ideas both candidates espoused were not Constitution friendly. But Obama was far more detrimental to that document than McCain.

This lead me to a question. Do we have candidates out there that stand for truth, liberty, justice and the Constitution? And that is when I found a man I just had to interview. His name is Ken Blevins and he is a candidate for US Senate from the State of NH. He is running against former NH Gov Jeanne Shaheen and current US Senator John Sununu.

This was an interview with a man that was scheduled to last about 15 minutes. Instead it lasted more than 45 minutes. Everything he said rang true and smacked of a man who knows the Constitution and the intent of the Founding Fathers.

Liberty Cafe': You are a member of the Libertarian Party. What does the Libertarian party stand for?

Ken Blevins: We believe in upholding the Constitution. It is the law of our land. We believe in individual rights to the point that as long as what you do does not interfere with your neighbor then you probably should be free to live your life as you see fit.

LC: Do you believe in gay marriage because both candidates have said they are against it.

KB: I believe that marriage is between that of a man and a woman but that gay should have the rights to have equal opportunity under the Constitution.

LC: Would you be in favor of a Constitutional amendment against gay marriage?

KB: No. I don't think we should use the Constitution as a weapon to dictate religious or moral values.
We have to be careful about using the Constitution as a way to force people to fit certain molds. That is not what the Founding Fathers had intended.

LC: What would you do about our energy problems?

KB: The free market can and should take care of this issue. We have always found ways to get things done in our country and government is not the answer to this problem. The free market has proven ideas right now, but government is getting in the way of those ideas coming to market.

LC: Do you think we should drill for more of our own oil?

KB: Yes. Listen, the environmental impact for drilling in the US is far less than it is on most foreign lands. Most oil producing countries don't have the strict environmental laws that we have and they do far more harm to the environment than we would do if we drilled here. How can environmentalist defend the notion its bad for us to drill but seek to let other countries with weaker laws drill more in their lands? It doesn't make sense. They (environmentalist) should be wanting us to drill more here because we would do far less damage to the environment.

LC: How about education.

KB: The notion that the more you pay the better you get is a myth. Regulations and government intervention have done nothing but raise the cost of education while delivering less quality. If it were a private business, it (education) would have gone out of business long ago.

LC: Traditional the Republican Party has been the party of smaller government. Why not become a strong wing of that party?

KB: Conservatives are against the basic principles of the Libertarian Party and would only seek to water down our position as they have done to the conservative position. Take for instance the Constitution gives felons the right to bear arms but we now have laws that ban them from having guns. Now you may think that is not a bad idea or law but you have to ask, where do you draw the line? Washington, D.C. Went to far in its ban on all guns obviously. But our Founding Fathers knew that guns in the hands of citizens should be a protected right.

LC: What is the major difference between you and Shaheen and Sununu?

KB: I believe in the Constitution. I believe in freedom. Shaheen supports the union vote issue where you have to sign your ballot. That is not what the Constitution says. Sununu supports McCain on immigration and that position is against the Constitution.

LC: So why should the people of NH and other states vote for you or other Libertarian candidates?

KB: Because we believe in the Constitution which is freedom and we believe in property rights as well. A person should not be limited by government as what they can and cannot do with their property. As long as it does not harm their neighbor then they should be free to do what they want to do.

Obviously we talked about much more than this. We touched on things like the War on Terror and the battles in Iraq and Afghanistan. In all cases, Mr Blevins beliefs were strongly in the corner of the Constitution and in the wisdom of the Founding Fathers.

I think the Libertarian Party may be the party we have all been looking for. Less government intervention in our lives. Bringing back self accountability and responsibility. That is what made our nation strong in the beginning and what kept us strong during some of our darkest hours.

You cannot have a free people in a land where the government dictates what freedoms you may and may not have. The Constitution points this out. It was a document not written to guarantee our rights. It was a document written to limit government so that our rights would not be taken away.

How did we flip this around?

Now we have two major candidates that only talk about what government is going to do for you and me what we should be doing for ourselves. And when you give the government that kind of power, they never give it back. So how free are you going to be if the government tells you what to do, when to do it and how to do it?

You are not going to be free.

Isn't it time you stopped voting for what you think the government can do for you and start voting for the Constitution again? I think so. You and I will be better off. Now isn't that what you really want.

What the Pledge Means to Me.

There has been a lot of talk and argument about Barak Obama and his allegiance. Why does he not solute the flag? Why does he not stand and show his support for the Pledge of Allegiance? Is he not Patriotic? Does he pledge his allegiance to someone or something else?

We can only speculate on what goes on in his mind. But his actions do speak louder than his words. But you also have to stop and ask yourself. Where does your allegiance lie? Do you truly hold your hand over your heart and recite the Pledge whenever you hear it? Do you focus on what it means to pledge to your nation?

Well I have thought about it and here is what the Pledge of Allegiance means to me.

I Pledge Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America...
I will stand and defend her with my very life because she has given me so much and others deserve to have what I have enjoyed. I pledge to defend her at anytime and anywhere.

And to the Republic for which it stands...
The flag represents the United States of America. The flag is the symbol for which I pledge my allegiance and my life to defend.

One Nation...
We are 50 small States that stand UNITED under one Federal Government and know that United we Stand, and Divided we Fall.

Under God...
The Founding Fathers were not deists but rather God fearing Christian believing men. They put fourth a Republic that took many of its principles directly from the Bible.

Indivisible...
No matter what, we are one people, no matter where we come from. That United we are stronger than any enemy and we cannot be broken.

With Liberty and Justice for all.
We are strong because we have liberty. We are free because we have justice. We grow because we strive to provide liberty and justice for all of our citizens no matter the color of their skin.

That pledge is what sends a tingly feeling up my leg every time I hear it. There is no greater nation on the planet. I will stand and defend that nation with my life if need be because the USA is worth it. Period. Now where does your allegiance lie?

Mr. Snipes Goes to Jail

The nation, indeed the world, is all a buzz over the conviction and now three year prison sentence that actor Wesley Snipes received yesterday. I have a serious problem with this verdict and sentence and so should you.

First of all, Mr. Snipes was convicted by a jury. A jury of 12 Americans most of whom I am sure do not like paying their income taxes. Most of whom, I am sure, wish there was a way for them NOT to pay their income taxes and get away with it.

Yet these same people convicted Mr. Snipes of doing what they wish they could do. Now I am not advocating breaking the law but you have to ask yourself, how legal is the whole income tax system? Does not the IRS say filing is “voluntary”? If it is voluntary then why is Mr. Snipes guilty of not filing a return for three years?

Seems to me he volunteered not to file. Or has the IRS rewritten the definition of “voluntary” so that ordinary Americans do not know what it really means. I think that is the case since Mr. Snipes was said to have “willfully not filed” under a system that says it is only voluntary to file. Which is it? Are we compelled to file or do we really have the right to file only if we volunteer to do so?

Also, this is a full onslaught on race and wealth. Yes, Mr. Snipes is a high profile case in that he is rich, he is well known, he is black. All three play a part in this.

First understand that the black middle and upper class is growing leaps and bounds. Blacks are fast becoming a group that contributes greatly to the tax base of this nation and thus can start to think for themselves. They no longer are under the thumb of the US Government as wards of the state via welfare and other social programs.

This means that blacks must learn they still have their place and cannot be allowed to challenge the US Government in any regard.

Most people who do not file a tax return for three years would get a slap on the wrist, pay hefty penalties for any past due taxes and be on their merry little way. Mr. Snipes was a target and the Prosecution even said point blank they wanted to make an example of Mr. Snipes.

Did they need to make an example of him? Haven't countless other high and mid level profile cases served to do this? One would think so, yet Mr. Snipes is arguably the first black high profile case. Look around, millions of people, black, white, red, yellow, are getting rich in this country. It is estimated that the USA will have over 10 million millionaires by the year 2010.

That is a lot of money. A lot of that money will be in the hands of minorities. Minorities that once used to be relegated to low wages and government assistance. The government is making an example of Mr. Snipes simply because they can, not because it is the right thing to do.

This has a direct impact on your liberty and freedom. With every case like this, juries are giving the government more and more power to take your money. This verdict and sentence basically states that the money YOU earn is not yours. All money belongs to the government and what you get to keep is what the government is so kind and generous to let you keep.

Why else do the Liberals play class warfare to the hilt. It is to get their hands on your money. Remember history tells us a tax on the rich is only a delayed tax on every one else. The Alternative Income Tax should be a hard lesson to us all. This tax or otherwise known as the AMT, was intended to get rich people to pay at least some income tax. Well, this tax has started to hit every day middle class Americans. As it was intended.

Don't think for a minute that it was not intended to hit you or me in the middle class. Look at the Capitol Gains tax. Yes they said it was to hit the rich when they make a killing on stocks or real estate but who did it hit the most and the hardest? The middle class especially when they retired and began cashing in on their retirement stock plans or they sold their home.

Americans began to see that the rich were now them even though they were not rich. You thought it would have been a wake up call. But the Liberals put a clever spin on such things and we still have many of the taxes that were “intended” for the rich but now hit the middle class.

Income taxes was not something the Founding Fathers of our nation thought was a proper way to fund a government. Wealth taxes, which is what income taxes are, were the bane of the old world. Part of the reason our Founding Fathers went to war was because of taxes.

You think Mr. Snipes got what he deserved? I tell you it can and will happen to you or someone you know and care about. Your freedom and liberty are held hostage by high taxes. You are a slave to the government and if you think you are not, then look at Mr. Snipes. Look at others who now find that even though they have money and power, the government has more of both.

When you vote for someone who plays the class or race card you are inviting danger and you are putting your freedom and liberty in jeopardy.
