Mexico is a huge danger to our freedom

You may be what the hell I mean by the title of this post. You are probably saying "Rod, how the hell can a third world country be of any danger to the great USA?" Well my friend, let me tell you.

Mexico is on the verge of melting down. Yes, that country and its current political state is on the verge of collapsing. And if that happens, where do you think a lot of Mexico's population is going to go for safety and opportunity?

They are going to flood across the border. They will cross at every point from Texas to California. No southern border state will be safe. And from there they will flood the rest of the USA.

If you think the current illegal immigration situation is a problem, you haven't seen anything should the Mexican government fall.

Right now, drug lords south of our border are in an all out war with the Mexican army and government. The biggest problem is that after years and years of corruption in Mexico, their military and police are very weak and full of corruption.

Drug Lords are terrorizing towns and openly taking on the military and police down there.

Now how does this affect you and me. Look at the state of California. They spent over 10 Billion Dollars last year supporting illegal immigrants. Think about it. That is a conservative estimate, too.

California is holding up income tax refunds to its residents because it doesn't have any cash. Yet they are spending billions on illegal immigrant. This issue is repeated all over the country. Almost every state in our union spends billions every year on illegals.

We don't have a responsible illegal immigration policy and thus, if Mexico melts down and a flood of people cross our open borders, then our states will be pressed even more to pay for these people. That is money that is coming out of your pocket, out of my pocket, out of our childrens' pockets.

So my question is, where is our immigration policy on this? Where is the wall and fence that has been approved on the border with Mexico? Why is it we have so many of our Law Makers that don't want to do a thing about this mess?

We cannot ignore that Mexico presents a clear and present danger to the USA. If not from the illegals of Mexico and other Central and South American nations, then from those who would intend to do us harm. They can easily cross the southern border and they have. There have been many, many reports of captures of Islamic Extremist crossing the Mexican/USA border.

So far we have avoided the inevitable bullet. But for how long? How can we as a free people, stand for our leaders ignoring this issue? How can we as a free people allow and re-elect leaders that want to open our borders even more?

Although Mexico may melt down and that is a dangerous thing, it is probably the American voter who is more dangerous. We vote the idiots who do nothing into office. We keep voting them into office even when they refuse to do anything or even propose laws that open border or prevent law enforcement agencies from doing their jobs.

As the most powerful and most prosperous nation on the planet right now, we are the number one target for all kinds of things even if we were to revert back to pre 1917 politics and get out of the world's business. There is no turning the clock back on this.

We have always been the land of opportunity and freedom and that is why so many love us and hate us. That is why so many will risk death trying to get here to live among us or to kill us. Yet we think that if we are "nice" that people will love us and obey our laws. You would be wrong and the proof in what I say is what is happening now.

It is time that you and I put heavy, heavy pressure on our leaders to close the borders, round up illegals and deport them and stop paying for those who are here illegally. It is the only way to protect our nation, our children and our grandchildren.

We are nothing but the caretakers of this land for our children and grandchildren. Our posterity depends on us to protect what was given to us so they will have the opportunity to live and enjoy as well. We cannot be so selfish as to only think about ourselves right now and forget about the future. We will end up suffering and more importantly so will our descendants.

Mexico is giving us a wake up call. A calm before the storm if you will. The raging storm is coming and we have no plan to prevent, protect and recover from such a storm. And that is a great danger to our way of life. We have been warned. Will we heed the warning or will be go the way of other great civilizations of history? The choice is ours, for now. But if we do nothing, then that choice will be made for us and we will not like that choice I can guarantee you.

We need a Cold War

There was a time when the people of the United States of America were united on victory. There was a time when “We the People” wanted to be on top and win. We were united in telling ourselves that sometimes sacrifice was needed in order to win and survive.

You may think I am talking about a time during our Nation's founding. Or I may be referring to the time of the two Great Wars. Or maybe I am talking about the Korean war. You would be wrong. I am talking about the 70's and the 80's.

Not all that long ago but so long from the memory of the Nation as a whole. We had a defined enemy. It was called the Soviet Union. The Cold War was red hot. We had movie and TV show about us kicking the butt of the Soviets. We cheered whenever we beet them in sports matches. Remember the Dream Hockey Team?

Oh yes, we had a collective pride in our nation and our military. Sure we had the rough spots like the Vietnam conflict. We had gas lines in the 70's and high interest rates in the late 70's and early 80's. But we were united. We had that cold war mentality. We felt as a nation we needed to win at all cost.

But we did not give up our freedom and liberty to do so. We won the Cold War without the Patriot Act. We had no need for the NSA because the CIA and FBI and Military Intelligence was all we needed.

Oh, sure you still had stupid Liberals whining about military spending. Sure you had environmentalist hugging trees. But the nation did not put up with corrupt government. Remember Nixon? No we as a Nation saw what our goal was and we did not allow anyone to get in our way of that goal.

Of course it was not all roses to be sure. We disagreed on how to win and we disagreed often on how to win. But we all agreed that we did need to win. That we had no choice but to win. We did not even entertain the thought of defeat. We did not even suggest the thought of cutting and running. We were America after all. We were the leader of the free world. The entire world looked up to us. Those who did not look up to us, feared us. That is why the Soviets never pushed the button first.

They knew our resolve to win. They saw how we mustered our might, our people, our resources to crush those who stood against us and freedom. We took no shit from anyone. We let those who would do us harm that their price would be heavy and great.

Now we have a mentality of cut and run. Reduce our liberty in order to be safe. Let other nations walk all over us and our allies. And we have those in leadership that not only argue about how to win but that we should not win at all.

What has happened to us as a Nation? Did we really get spoiled after we won the Cold War? Did we really lose our way? Did we really get so numb and dumb that corrupt leaders can bilk our nation of billions of dollars, blame someone else and the American public doesn't hold them accountable? How did we get to this point? How did we lose our way?

Simple really. We lost our collective goal. We lost our National Pride to win at all cost while preserving what made us great to begin with. Freedom and liberty. We need that Cold War mentality back. We need to elect leaders that understand there is evil in the world and that we are the people who can stop it cold. We can win. We have done it nearly every time we put our collective minds to it.

There is nothing this nation cannot accomplish. All we need is the leadership and the will to win once again. We need to think of those that would do us harm as the fallen Soviet Union.

Hell, maybe Putin could do us all a favor by resurrecting the Soviet Union and reigniting the Cold War. Maybe then the People of this great nation will rise again to their full potential and defeat all that would do us harm, roust and jail the corrupt in politics and go back to strong, steady and real progress and prosperity.

I cannot believe I am saying this but, for the sake of our great nation, please Prime Minister Putin. Put Russia back on the map. Give us a common enemy again that we cannot ignore. Help us regain the greatness that was the United States of America.

I need a Sledge Hammer

When are people in this country going to wake up. Seriously. It is getting to be very frustrating dealing with people who do not even understand the concept of freedom.

Sure you have the freedom to give up your freedom. But why would you do it? Sure you can blame president Bush for the stupid Patriot Act but why do you vote for others who tell you to your face they will take away your freedom and limit your choice?

Does anyone stop and think any more? Do you really understand the meaning of hypocrisy. Seriously.

I run into people all the time who are aghast that I do not support Barrack Obama. When I ask them to tell me why they are supporting him no body can tell me outside of the sound bites why they support him.

He will bring change, they say. Bill Clinton promised the same kind of change but other than redefining the meaning of sex, what change did he bring? And of that change, if there was any, did you like it? The answer is usually no they did not like the change Bill Clinton brought about.

So many people don't have health care. So I ask do you like the government telling you what to do in any aspect of your life? They usually answer no. So why then would you want the government to tell you when and where you could get your health care? They wouldn't, they admit. So why vote for someone who says he or she is going to take over the health care system? They wouldn't they say. But you will vote for Obama? Yes, they say. I want to bash my head with a hammer at this point.

Do you like being taxed, I ask. Well, no, they reply. Do you think you pay too much in taxes, I ask. Usually they reply with a resounding yes. So why would you support someone who says to your face he is going to raise your taxes? But he represents change they say. The kind of change you want then, I reply. Not exactly they say.

Where is that hammer?

You probably want out of Iraq. But should would bail out as soon as possible even if it means leaving the Iraqi people in an insecure position? Well that would not be right, they say. Oh, so the people of Iraq deserve freedom and they deserve to be able to live in peace then? Well everyone on the planet deserves to live in peace, they reply. Then taking out the troops now and ending that peace and leaving the people of Iraq to the terrorist and the evils of Iran is OK then. Well, no they respond with concern in their voice. So Obama wants to get out now and do just that, should you still support him? Well yes, they say. They use that word change again.

I need a huge hammer.

So you don't agree with Obama on taxes, health care, your freedom, the battle for Iraq yet you still support him? I am sorry but I just don't understand why you would?

Well he is so eloquent in his speech. He is good looking and he is black.

Huh?

I tell them about some of his gaffs only I lie and say George Bush said those things and they say, he is an idiot and needs to be impeached. Then I correct myself and say (and prove) that Obama said those things and they still don't believe. I tell them where they can hear him and see him say those things (57 states) and they still think he is a brilliant man.

How can you say he is brilliant when you just said George Bush is an idiot for saying the same thing even thought GW didn't actually say those things? Um is their response.

Obama is only half black and he is half white and his father was not a slave descendant. I am part black and I am descended from slaves. Would I be a better president? No, they reply, you are not a democrat.

OK, I know have a sledge hammer.

Are we really this dumb as a nation?

I think one good whack with an 8lb sledge will put me out of my misery.

Health Care by Government, Only if You Want Medicare for Everone

There has been a lot of talk about health care. There has been a lot of talk about the 35 to 45 million people in the USA that have no health insurance coverage. The politicians claim that these people all want coverage but can't afford it.

Lets be honest here. First of all, not all those 35 to 45 million Americans want insurance. There are many who do not want to spend the money even if they can afford it. I remember when I was in my teens. I did not want to pay for health care coverage that did not make sense to me. Most people who are healthy in their teens and twenties don't see the need for regular health insurance. They don't visit doctors on a regular basis and they know they would be throwing their money away.

Well now, according to 60 Minutes, we have millions of people who are under insured. These people can't afford the co-payment or they don't have dental or eye care as a part of their current coverage. So that boost the number of people who do not have proper health coverage to nearly 100 million people.

That means that one third of the US population does not access the health care system. I find that hard to believe.

First of all, I do not believe that health care is a basic right. I'm sorry, but it is not. It is a business like any other. If it was not a business where a profit could be made, then you would not have the advancements we have had. Yes, if something goes wrong, I certainly want the best possible medical attention I can afford.

That is key. The word afford. Yes, I am sure I have just pissed off a lot of people but that will not change my view. I have been on both sides of the isle. I have had health care coverage and I have been without it. I have always been healthy and I rarely go to a doctor.

Some people would say I am crazy for not visiting my doctor on a regular basis. Why should I? There is very little in our world that people access when they don't need to.

The point is, there is nothing on this planet other than breathing that is given to anyone free of charge. You even have to work for your food. So why do we think we can take what is essentially a business and start giving it away or dictating the cost and price of it.

Communist and Socialist countries have all tried to make parts or all of their health care a free and open access policy and they have all failed or they are currently failing. Canadians come to the USA for basic health care needs because they cannot get them in Canada or their waiting list is too long for the good of their health.

England, Sweden and other socialistic nations have had to change or overhaul their government health care system because their old systems were not working and/or it was bankrupting the government and the people.

Those of you calling for the Federal Government to take over your health care should take a look at Medicare and Midicaid. They should also look at the VA system. All three are in shambles and are shameful examples of how government can screw up your health care.

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts has changed their health care system. They say they are doing everyone a great service. The only problem is they are in the back pockets and in the bedroom of every one of their citizens. In Massachusetts if you are 18 years old or older you MUST have health insurance. If you don't, then the state will fine you. Now of course if you fall within certain income guidelines you are eligible for a state plan. Again you are forced to have something you may not want. It is not the same as being forced to have car insurance. You can chose to not own or drive a car. The only choice you have with health insurance is to move out of the state.

And yes, Massachusetts is losing population. The neighboring states of New Hampshire and Rhode Island are gaining a good portion of those fleeing the over taxation and over regulation in Massachusetts

Health care and health insurance is not FREE nor is it cheap. To say you want the government to give it to you is ludicrous. It is the very definition of insanity. I do not want an organization that already has made a mess of health care to be in charge of my health care.

I am one of those very healthy people even though high blood pressure and diabetes runs in my family. I choose not to go to the doctor for a number of reasons. Mainly because I am healthy and I eat right and exercise and just plain take care of myself. It is safe to say that if the majority of Americans lived the way I lived, there would not be nearly as high a need for drugs and doctors as we have now. And yes I do eat sweets and junk food on occasion.

The point is, when the government get hold of your health care, they will be able to tell you how to live if you want to continue getting that care. You don't think other measures will come down the pike? Think again.

There are already people in congress proposing a fat tax on snack foods similar to the taxes on tobacco. Sugar soft drinks are also in their radar sites. Yes you will be hounded and taxed to death if you do not conform to someones ideal way of life. That is the power of government and once you give them that power, it is nearly impossible to take that power away.

Remember, just like driving, you do not have a constitutional right to eat anything you want. At least that is what they will say which will give them the right to tax your eating behavior. Snack foods and other foods not deemed healthy will be viewed as privileges. Hell there may even be age limits imposed on snack foods. Petty soon you will need to be 16 or 18 or 21 years of age to buy potato chips. You think I am going too far?

Just look at tobacco, alcohol and some over the counter drugs. Don't think for an instant that the health police will not come after you or tax you and your favorite snack chip. The point is government has no business being in my or your living room, bed room, bathroom or anywhere else in your private life. But you allow them to take over the health care system and you will give them that right.

Not to mention you will be much poorer for it. You think health care in the USA is expensive now, just wait until the government gets hold of it. When was the last time government was able to bring down the cost of anything while keeping the service the same or improving it? Right, there has not been a time.

Our government is here for public safety, yes. Health care is not a public safety issue. You can take care of yourself. And if the government would get totally out of health care, then maybe, just as with car insurance, it will be more affordable for those who want it.

Just think. Right now you can get a health coverage plan in various forms. It could be an HMO or a PPO or even a major medical policy (which makes the most sense for young people who are healthy) but if the government takes control now you can only get what they say and trust me the more efficient policies out there will not be allowed.

I find it horrifying that the American people would allow the government to make decisions as personal as health care.

You had better be careful because if our health care system tanks, then where are you going to go? Already most of the world comes here for health care because your system is the best in the world. So if you destroy the best, who is left? Canada? England? Sweden? France? They all come here when they can. You, the people of the USA, my fellow Americans, will be shit out of luck.

Security is coming for the Southern Border - of Mexico

OK, at first I thought this story was just not true. Then I did some digging. What I dug up was totally confounding and upsetting. I cannot believe that President Bush would even propose this or that anyone in Washington D.C. would even seriously consider it.

Rush Limbaugh was on this a few days ago.



Rush is not the only one on this. There are a number of reports and stories on this issue which leaves me to ask a simple question. Why isn't the main stream media on this story? Could it be that they don't want you, the American public to know? Of course that is their goal but some of their lesser outlets like those below, are spilling the beans.

This is not a conservative idea. We need to be spending that money on securing OUR Southern border with Mexico. Hell, we know where all those Central American illegals are going. They are not staying in Mexico for long. They are just passing through because they are heading for our southern border and will end up in our southern states and then the rest of the country.

We need to secure our borders now.
